Born in Belfast and classically trained in Europe, Alastair McLeod is a beloved chef and television personality who now calls Samford home.
Alastair has been a familiar favourite on reality cooking shows for years, including Network Ten’s Ready Steady Cook, Seven Network’s Queensland Weekender, as well as his own homegrown food show, Off the Eaten Track, which is aired nationally in Australia and New Zealand.

All ABOUT ALASTAIR MCLEOD
Alastair’s culinary journey saw him work at several Michelin-listed restaurants in Belfast, the United Kingdom and Italy, as well as several other impressive restaurants in France and Scotland.
With his grandfather born in the Torres Strait and his mother in Cairns, Alastair moved to Queensland 27 years ago to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers.
Since moving to Australia, Alastair has worked as the executive chef at the Brisbane Stalwart Baguette, which won back-to-back Restaurant and Caterer Awards and saw the restaurant inducted into the Hall of Fame.
His tenures in Brisbane include roles as the executive chef at Brett’s Wharf, as well as having established Tank Restaurant and Bar in the Brisbane CBD.
As an adamant supporter of all things local, Alastair is also the host of the popular Samford Harvest dinners which are held every quarter in the Moreton Bay hinterland.
These dinners allow guests the opportunity to treat their taste buds to a five-course meal with ingredients and produce sourced locally in and around the Samford Valley, which are then cooked by Alastair himself.
He also started his own catering company called Al’FreshCo Catering Company which provides catering, markets, and his own product line.
