Adam will be whipping up some incredible dishes when he appears on The Kitchen Stage presented by Ausbuild.
Born in Malaysia to an English-Singaporean mother and Hainanese Chinese father, Adam Liaw loves drawing inspiration from his family’s heritage for his Asian-style home cooking.
Growing up his family lived in several countries, so in addition to speaking English, Adam can also speak fluent Japanese and knows basic Mandarin.
He has loved to cook since he was a kid, and regularly made meals for his parents and siblings.

All ABOUT ADAM LIAW
His family moved to Australia when he was three, and after high school, he attended The University of Adelaide where he completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science.
It was while he was working in Japan as the Head of Legal and Business Affairs for Disney Interactive, Asia Pacific, that Adam’s love for food and cooking blossomed.
He returned home and auditioned for Network Ten’s reality television show MasterChef Australia, where he was crowned the champion during the second series in 2010.
Adam is now the author of multiple cookbooks, where he helps people put delicious dinners on the table every single night. Some of his bestsellers include 7 Days of Dinner, Tonight’s Dinner, Tonight’s Dinner 2, The Zen Kitchen, Adam Liaw’s Asian Cookery School, Adam’s Big Pot, Asian After Work, and Two Asian Kitchens.
He has also hosted a range of documentary, food and entertainment programs for television and radio including SBS’s Who The Bloody Hell Are We, The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, and Destination Flavour. He also presented the ABC program Tomorrow Night and How Taste Changed the World (Audible).
He is also a columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s Scene Asia, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and Sunday Life magazine.
