The event has been created by Ladies Who Long Lunch hosts Kirsty and Jo, Moreton Bay-based networking maestros who curate memorable experiences for women who appreciate the finer things in life but often juggle too much to savour them.
Your Hosts Kirsty and Jo both run their own businesses in Moreton Bay, as well as running business networking groups in Brisbane and Redcliffe. They are both passionate about helping women to take time for themselves to create connections both socially and professionally with other like-minded business women.
Meet Brooke Falvey, a fashion dynamo and the MC for our fashion parade. Former journalist turned fashion editor and stylist, Brooke brings a daily dose of style and colour through her Instagram account, What Brooke Wore. With a background in editorial and celebrity styling, she also hosts workshops and has a styling philosophy deeply rooted in 'Dopamine Dressing'. Brooke believes in the power of clothes to uplift our moods and encourages dressing for personal pleasure. Her personal style? A fun, feminine, flirty mix of Nina Proudman, Carrie Bradshaw, and a dash of Elle Woods.
Between bites, immerse yourself in enlightening discussions from our Empowerment Panel featuring festival headline chef and cookbook author Kim McCosker, Dress for Dignity Founder & Managing Director Rochelle Courtenay, and Deputy Mayor Jodie Shipway.
Meet Kim McCosker, not only is she one of the festival's chef headliners, but the creative genius behind Australia’s massively popular 4 Ingredients cookbooks. After leaving her corporate career to raise her three sons, Kim discovered a new passion: simplifying kitchen life. From that first cookbook, she has since authored over 30 books, a TV show aired in 22 countries, a cookware range, and an iApp! Kim's work transcends age, gender, and cultural tastes, helping everyone from busy mums to retirees discover the joy of easy, delicious cooking.
Meet Rochelle Courtenay, Founder of Share the Dignity, an inspiring national charity born in 2015. It promotes dignity through distributing period products to individuals dealing with homelessness, domestic violence, and period poverty. Rochelle's spirited leadership has attracted 6,000+ volunteers. Advocating for systemic changes, her team championed for the removal of GST on period products in 2019. Dress for Dignity, a Share the Dignity's initiative, underscores the transformative power of a single dress for women in difficult situations.. Adding an extra layer of depth to our event, Rochelle and Dress for Dignity have partnered with Orange Sherbet for a unique festival collaboration. The two forces have teamed up to create an exclusive dress. Making its debut at our event, this stylish piece will also be available for purchase throughout the festival with proceeds going towards assisting women in challenging situations.
