It has been a long time between courses, but foodies won’t have to wait much longer as the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival announces its biggest program yet.
Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, the signature event of the six-week Tastes of Moreton Bay program, will be held on July 30, 31 and August 1 at Apex Park, Woody Point.
Foodies will eat, drink and enjoy as they make their way through the festival precinct on Saturday and Sunday, winding along Woody Point’s foreshore, famous for its red cliffs and spectacular sunsets.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) has partnered with Moreton Bay Regional Council, Tourism & Events Queensland and sponsors, to cook up and serve a tantalising program for food fanatics, attracting some of the nation’s most talented chefs to showcase our gastronomic offerings.
From unique dining experiences, cooking demonstrations, pop-up bars, live entertainment, celebrity chefs, food trucks, fireworks, masterclasses, and market stalls; the 2021 festival program has the recipe to satisfy everyone’s palate.
“Get your tastebuds ready because Moreton Bay Food + Wine is back, offering foodies throughout SEQ a feast for the eyes and a feast for the senses, serving up the biggest festival program to date,” explained MBRIT Chairman Shane Newcombe.
“Joining us across two stages, during the festival weekend, will be some of Australia’s biggest names in the culinary world including celebrity chefs Matt Golinksi, Dominque Rizzo and Samford local Alastair McLeod.
"They will be cooking up seafood delights on the Seafood Cooking Stage sponsored by USC, alongside our local chefs."
“We are also very excited to announce that the ABC’s popular gardening guru Costa Georgiadis will be making his festival debut on the Home, Garden & Lifestyle Stage presented by Stockland.”
This year, the festival weekend will kick-off with a free Friday Night Launch Party presented by Traders in Purple.
As the sun goes down on July 30, get ready to turn those Friday arvo feels up! Say goodbye to the working week and hello to the start of SEQ’s most delicious festival weekend.
We’ll be serving up stage entertainment, roving performers, pop-up bars and food vendors, and the iconic festival tipis are returning.
Mayor Peter Flannery said Moreton Bay deserved to be recognised as a food bowl for South East Queensland.
“This is my favourite time of year, when we proudly showcase the depth of talent and passion coming from our agricultural, fishing and culinary sectors,” Mayor Flannery said.
“We bat well above our average in terms of the quality of our produce and appreciation for cuisine. Moreton Bay has well and truly come of age and it’s time we made the nation pay attention to that.
“Our subtropical climate offers a bounty of products from pineapples and raspberries to shellfish and wagyu products, and we have chefs daring enough to try truly exciting things. Honestly, this is an event that will blow you away.
“Best of all, Moreton Bay is just minutes away from Brisbane, so get in your car to discover our amazing food offerings and pioneering tastemakers.”
The first to secure their limited festival weekend passes will receive a free reusable festival cup.
