Meet our Chefs

Don't miss all the action live on the Seafood Cooking Stage presented by USC

Learn the tricks of the trade from some of Australia's biggest names in the culinary world. This year we've got Matt Golinski (Sat & Sun), Alastair McLeod (Sun only) and Dominique Rizzo (Sat only), cooking alongside our local chefs, as they share their recipes and kitchen tips, inspired by Moreton Bay.

Pull up a chair and hear about their food and stories, while stealing (or “borrowing”) some kitchen tips and seafood-inspired recipes to try (and pass off as your own) at home.

Matt Golinski

Don’t miss Matt Golinski as he hosts cooking demonstrations twice daily over the festival weekend.

Join Matt where he will entertain audiences and share special recipes inspired by Moreton Bay.

Don’t miss Matt cooking live at 11.30am and 2.30pm daily (both Saturday and Sunday).

Alastair McLeod

Alastair is a proud Samford local and is passionate about supporting all things local. He believes the closer you are to your food source, the better it will taste and the smaller footprint you will create.

Don’t miss Alastair McLeod and his signature good-humoured style as he hosts a cooking demonstration on Sunday at 12.30 pm.

You can also catch Alastair on the Local Tastes Pavilion stage talking about all things local produce on Sunday at 10.30 am

Darren Lockyer

You read that correctly! Footy legend and Sunny’s Margate Beach Owner, Darren Lockyer will be joining Executive Chef Matija Stefancic live on stage to cook a seafood-inspired dish.

Does Darryn know his way around a kitchen? Find out on Saturday at 1.30 pm.

Dominique Rizzo

Dominique Rizzo is one of Queensland’s leading female chefs and last year was announced as Queensland’s 10th #eatqld champion where she focuses on fresh, healthy cooking using the finest ingredients from Queensland’s agriculture industry.

Don’t miss Dominque Rizzo cooking live on Saturday at 12.30 pm.
